Computer is crucial device for my academic life; however, I could not even imagine that I
use a computer so often when I was not familiar to it. The relationship between computer and I
has passed three steps to reach the level of necessary.
At the first step, computer was a cause of worry. When I started to touch the computer, I was
only a 6 year-old girl. I had no idea about computer and its ability. Since my father liked to buy
new things, I used to see he typed a keyboard fluently. Whereas the appearance, which was like
a robot and had a lot of mysterious buttons, scared me. Furthermore, because of my father’s
detailed lecture about how to shut down the computer, I felt so nervous when I finished the
computer. I considered it to be a very fragile thing.
In the second step, I stated to be accustomed to use computer. But I just played with a
computer game of Hallo-Kitty, which became a lead for a computer life. My complex about the
high technology item disappears and I attempted to explore the Internet world by myself. First
of all, I started to research about something I want to know. I was surprised at the enormous
amount of information that appeared on the screen. It seemed to be impossible to find the
suitable information that I hope to see. I could learn the difficulties and convenience of Internet
through the exploration.
The third step came to me when I was a high school student. I was belonged to a
student council; thus, I had to make a poster to inform and many documents about student
council with Word processor and Excel. It was the first time that I exploited these systems. In
addition, I took a computer class, which reinforces my computer skills. The lectures mostly
covered fundamental information about computer, but they made me more curious about using
computer.
The relationship with computer developed with these three steps. Now I have a few
skills about computer; therefore, I would like to explore the world and enjoy using more
effectively.
